About the Role
We’re seeking an exceptional attorney to join a dynamic team of product counsel supporting Uber’s Delivery business in building the foundation for the Uber Eats of tomorrow. This exciting counsel-level role will primarily support the courier product and operations teams within Uber’s Delivery business.
You will dive into company-wide Earner initiatives, assess global risk throughout the development of interesting, complex products, and serve as a critical legal POC for courier operations teams tackling new challenges.
What You’ll Do
– Lead global legal reviews for new courier-facing products or features for the Delivery business, advising on how best to mitigate legal risk while supporting business objectives
– Develop/update terms and conditions to align with the needs of courier products and operations
– Work closely with global regional legal teams, subject matter experts, and multiple business stakeholders representing HQ legal for product reviews
– Be a trusted advisor and partner to the Delivery business, facilitating the provision of timely, comprehensive legal guidance assessing both domestic and global business needs
– Think outside the box while advising on novel legal issues
Basic Qualifications
– Minimum of five (5) years as a practicing attorney OR Minimum four (4) years, including +1 year Uber internal.
– J.D. and license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
Preferred Qualifications
– In-house and/or product counseling experience preferred.
– Experience assessing legal risk globally.
– Excellent business judgment, ability to build credibility, great communication, and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, collaborating with business and legal groups while building relationships and working independently to get the job done.
– A Go Get It Attitude and ability to see around corners with an analytical mindset, assisting business clients while thinking several steps ahead about Uber!

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $176,000 per year – $195,000 per year.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $195,000 per year – $216,500 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $195,000 per year – $216,500 per year.
For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $195,000 per year – $216,500 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber’s bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
