College Intern – Supply Chain Sustainable Solutions (SCSS)

Job Brief

The Supply Chain Sustainable Solutions (SCSS) group within Salt River Project’s Supply Chain, Transportation and Flight Services (SCT&FS) organization is currently looking for a Sustainable Solutions Business Analyst intern. The SCSS department is comprised of two groups: Investment Recovery and ReEnvision Waste; both groups are focused on corporate waste diversion and aversion strategies, zero waste initiatives, circular supply chain (and economy), retired assets, revenue generation, recycling opportunities and innovative reuse.

Job Responsibilities

  • Have a general passion for sustainability and a desire to learn how it is integrated in a corporate environment
  • The internship is in Tempe, AZ and will be a mix of in-person and remote based work
  • Ability to analyze, interrupt and understand business processes
  • Interact with internal stakeholders and support business partners while participating in projects that directly impact business value
  • Extensive research/analytical skills (ability to read substantial reports and summarize)
  • Ability to work with large sets of data and interpret trends, changes, etc.
  • Time management skills (balance multiple projects) and ability to self-manage
  • Detail-oriented
  • Problem solving skills and systems thinking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Seek a wide range of opportunities for growth and development
  • Be fast learners who can keep up with the rapidly changing technological field

Education

College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.

Pay Structure and Hours

  • This is a paid opportunity for a student working a minimum of 15 hours per week. However, work hours and schedules may fluctuate based on departmental needs.
  • Applicant must be enrolled and attending a minimum of six (6) college credits per semester (100 or higher-level courses).
  • Pay rate is $18.00 per hour for an undergraduate intern and $20.00 per hour for a graduate intern.

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
