JOB GOAL: To supervise and coordinate all activities of the payroll department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of four (4) years payroll experience
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively, including written and oral instruction
- Experience with Infinite Visions Enterprise software
- Experience with filing state and federal tax forms, Department of Labor, unemployment and ASRS forms
- Proficient with electronic timekeeping systems
- Ability to accurately and effectively perform duties under conditions of constant interruption
- Ability to work independently and assume responsibility
- Must obtain an Arizona IVP Clearance Card
- Ability to assess information received and maintain confidentiality required
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-Month, 260 Days General Leave, Vacation
COMPENSATION: $64,275 – $87,980
BENEFITS: As per District policy
REPORTS TO: Director of Business Services
EVALUATION: Initial evaluation to be completed no later than ninety (90) days after first day of work; thereafter, annually by supervisor.
HOURS: 40 hours per week and may require longer hours Monday-Friday
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Schedules, supervises, and coordinates input of District payrolls
- Ensures accurate, timely processing and reconciling of payroll for district employees in compliance with district policy and in accordance with Federal, State and local tax regulations and laws
- Ensures accurate input of payroll changes and update of corresponding records
- Interviews, recommends for hiring, trains, supervises and evaluates all payroll staff
- Communicates with District personnel regarding the payroll program, local, state and federal payroll regulations
- Interprets Chart of Accounts and codes for proper use during processing of payroll
- Processes and files County documents for lost and/or voided warrants
- Monitors and maintains the electronic timekeeping system and complete accurate data entry for timecard batches
- Performs electronic timekeeping training on a regular basis for district personnel
- Enters and monitors deductions on payroll software system
- Maintains employee payroll files
- Prepares and distribute W-2 forms
- Prepares various reports (quarterly state and federal payroll taxes) to comply with the state and federal law
- Runs payroll reports as needed
- Must be familiar with district policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
