Information Security Analyst Sr. is responsible for managing and ensuring an efficient and effective Security Monitoring Program that provides for the protection of the Agency’s information assets.
Info Security Analyst Sr. develops and maintains IT monitoring/access management program that meet IT security policies and standards in a manner commensurate with risk; ensures compliance with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Tax Information Security Guidelines for Federal, State and Local Agencies, Social Security Administration (SSA) Electronic Information Exchange Security Requirements, Guidelines, and Procedures for Federal, State and Local Agencies and the policies and procedures of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Info Security Analyst Sr. provides the current information security and risk management topics from leading resources and disseminates this information to ISRM staff and other as needed. Conduct security investigations and disseminates to DSS management regarding audit log requests and other similar investigation matters. Assist in reviews of applications design to ensure security features are incorporated and will provide direct support to ISRM Assistant Director of Governance.
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience in the fields of Information Technology, Information Security, or Security Incident Response.
• Experience working in Commonwealth IT Environments
• Experience monitoring, tracking, and reporting on events impacting data confidentiality, integrity, or availability
• Experience working with SPLUNK or similar log aggregation tools
• Able to work with business data owners
• Personal Effectiveness
• Works well independently
• Works well within a team setting
• Able to draw logical conclusions based on data correlation and feedback from the business
Additional Considerations
• Certified Information System Security Professional, Certified Information Security Manager, or similar certification
• Experience working with Virginia Department of Social Services
• Experience creating and using SQL statements to query databases such as Oracle or MS SQL
