We’re seeking a future team member for the role of CX/UX Designer to join our Digital Partnerships & Strategic Investments & Innovation Center team. This role is located in New York, NY – HYBRID/REMOTE.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and stakeholders, to define and understand user needs, business goals, and project requirements.
  • Utilize your expertise in user journey mapping to visualize and analyze user interactions, identify pain points, and propose solutions that enhance user satisfaction and engagement.
  • Lead design thinking workshops and brainstorming sessions to foster creative problem-solving, idea generation, and consensus building among team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to effectively communicate design concepts and user flows, iterating based on feedback and usability testing results.
  • Create and maintain design guidelines, pattern libraries, and design systems in alignment with BNY Mellon design principals to ensure consistency and coherence across various products and features.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze user feedback to refine and improve the user experience of systems.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in CX/UX design to bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches to the team.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • 5-7 years in the global financial services or fintech industry as a proven experienced CX/UX Designer, showcasing a strong portfolio of successful projects.
  • Proficiency in user journey mapping techniques, design thinking methodologies, and facilitating workshops.
  • Proficient with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar software.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
  • Experience with user research, usability testing, and data-driven design decisions.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present and articulate design concepts and decisions.
  • Solutions oriented team player with track record in executing across a diverse range of priorities
  • Intellectual curiosity, creative thinker; desire to constantly learn and continuously improve
  • Excellent ability to establish, develop, and maintain trust-based relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze problems or situations and apply a structured, analytical approach to developing solutions that progress our agenda and our clients’ needs
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (both verbally and in writing); ability to articulate complex information in a clear and simple manner to a variety of audiences

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $91,000 and $175,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and company- sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
