Senior Project Engineer – Special Projects

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a leader of safety on the jobsite and champion a zero injuries safety culture.
  • Mentor and coach project engineers on how to follow the SOP and use appropriate systems to complete assigned tasks.
  • Assist with subcontractor buy out, bid tabs, comparing subcontractor estimates, project start up, and obtaining jobsite signage.
  • Assist with project start up to include obtaining safety and job site signage and assisting the assistant project manager/project manager/superintendent to work with Logistics and secure job site materials, equipment, or supplies.
  • Manage multiple and complex scopes of work relating to the project and subcontractors to ensure no gaps or duplications.
  • Manage Request for Clarification (RFC) and submittal process in accordance with GE Johnson’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Lead the material procurement process.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for communication and deliverables for the project.
  • Lead, manage and/or execute document control and filing.
  • Manage project quality control in accordance with the Quality SOP.
  • Support the assistant project manager/project manager with the completion of owner pay applications and validate subcontractor billing submissions.
  • Manage the punch list and ensure closeout is in accordance with the Quality SOP.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Project Engineer or Project Coordinator in a commercial construction environment
  • Experience with Prolog or other project management software
  • Experience reading and interpreting contracts

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or the equivalent
  • Experience with ASTA and/or other construction scheduling software
  • Experience with Bluebeam
  • Experience with Navisworks or other 3D design modeling software
  • Experience leading a team
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain certification as a GE Johnson approved driver
  • Stormwater reporting experience
  • Public speaking/presentation skills
  • OSHA10 completion

Pay Range: $77,000 – $97,000
