A successful candidate is one that has a natural ability to balance multiple projects, work within a high-growth and constantly evolving environment, and collaborate across diverse stakeholders. As a leader on this team you will be responsible for understanding key AWS security controls, processes leveraged to support compliance initiatives, and supporting technology and looking for ways to continuously improve for scale, efficiency, and quality in-line with customer expectations.

As a leader within the AWS Security team you will be sought out for advice on technical and business issues. Efficient time management skills are required along with the ability to deliver results in the face of uncertainty. You will be expected to show exemplary judgment in making technical trade-offs between short versus long term security and business goals.
This role will be expected to provide thought leadership for the organization as you invent and innovate in the course of your duties.
Key job responsibilities
Security Strategy:
* Develop and champion a holistic security strategy that aligns with business objectives and prioritizes customer experience enhancement.
* Collaborate with executive leadership to communicate the strategic importance of security in delivering exceptional customer experiences.
* Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of security professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
* Act as the single threaded owner (STO) for large, complex, and strategic business and technology initiatives supporting our AWS customers.
* Implement and monitor mechanisms ensuring the teams are delivering the highest quality solutions and services predictably while meeting the needs of our customers.
* Own project plans, align teams, and track progress for multiple inter-connected work streams.
* Guide both strategy and tactical decision-making to deliver complex cross-team programs, as well as partner with matrixed teams to help support the strategic deliverables.
* Manage delivery schedules and emergent tasks while mitigating risks, managing tradeoffs, and eliminating blockers
Collaboration:
* Collaborate with product, engineering, design, and service teams to determine how to measure security assurance outcomes in the product development lifecycle.
* Serve as a trusted advisor, working with service teams on security best practices while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that balances business needs with customer assurance requirements.
Customer-Centric Assurance Support:
* Drive initiatives that improve customer trust, such as clear communication of security measures, data protection practices, and operator access.
* Champion the implementation of cutting-edge security technologies that provide opportunities for efficiency and improved customer outcomes in the security assurance lifecycle.
Compliance:
* Assess and manage customer-related security assurance inquiries, proactively identifying potential issues and designing mitigation strategies that align with business goals.
* Understand and serve as a subject-matter expert around AWS’ security controls, along with the supporting processes and technology enablement
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
* Stays current of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to leverage advancements in security to create innovative security assurance experiences for customers.
* Lead the evaluation and adoption of new tools, techniques, and methodologies that enhance security while maintaining seamless customer interactions.
A day in the life
You will own and contribute to security assurance engagement delivery including assessments, evidence, and remediation. You will join an expanding team, leverage your technical and domain skills, and apply a variety of methodologies to drive these processes and outcomes. You will be expected to dive deep into these areas, identify opportunities to bring new technologies to support, develop and calibrate metrics, and think differently about how to drive efficiencies relative to outcomes. You will collaborate with service teams and senior leaders to support Security Assurance outcomes for our customers as they trust us with their most vital business workloads.
About the team
We are a team of that delivers security assurance outcomes for customers and continuously looks for new ways to approach compliance. AWS Security Assurance drives the AWS Compliance Program which helps customers to understand the robust controls in place at AWS to maintain security and compliance of the cloud. We deliver compliance enablers for customers which tie together governance-focused, audit-friendly service features with applicable compliance or audit standards, helping customers to establish and operate in an AWS security control environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
– 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
– 7+ years of technical program management experience
– 5+ years of software development experience
– Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
– 5+ years of experience with business analysis, modeling, and engineering in an enterprise environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
– 5+ years of data analysis experience including use of Tableau/ QuickSight, development of metrics, KPIs, KRIs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
