Why does the job exist?
The purpose of this position is to provide case management oversight in the Southeast Region of New Mexico.
How does it get done?
This position is to provide case management oversight, monitoring, training and the provision of technical assistance to individual case managers and direct service agencies related to the written Individual Service Plan (ISP) document, ISP process, and development of a waiver budget and implementation of Developmental Disability Waiver standards. This position will organize and coordinate routine meetings with internal and external stakeholders. This includes fielding constituent calls, collaboration with other units, collaborating with other state agencies, troubleshooting individual complaints, and reviewing provider applications. Travel within the region is required to accomplish the initiatives of the Developmental Disabilities Supports Division.

This position directly relates to participants of the Developmental Disability Waiver and other stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has case management experience in any profession and preferably with persons with developmental disabilities. NM Developmental Disability Waiver experience or previous work with Medicaid funded programs is ideal. The preferred candidate has a Baccalaureate degree.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology and/or Family Studies/Services and two (2) years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health and/or health care. Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certificate as a condition of continued employment within 45 days of employment. Travel may be required with some occasional overnight stays. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Working Conditions
Office setting with extensive use of personal computer, telephone, fax, copier and other related office equipment that involves sitting, standing, bending, reaching, etc. to include lifting up to 30 pounds.
