This posting will be used for 30 days to conduct ongoing recruitment and will remain open until the position and/or positions have been filled.
Shift varies 6:00 am to 2:00 pm and 11:30 am to 7:30 pm
Why does the job exist?
This position is responsible for providing Food Server duties in the Dietary Department.
How does it get done?
Use food thermometers and document results using log book prior to serving meal(s). Prepare, assemble and serve food according to diet orders. Wash raw fruits and vegetables. Keep work area clean/organized–cleaning procedures i.e. utensils, china, glassware, flatware, countertops, carts, floors, sneeze guards, etc. Use & clean the dish washing machine(s), steam wells and dishes. Store food and label with the name & date of the item being stored. Check the daily menu to ensure all food items needed are available. Stock items for the day’s menu i.e. condiments, salads, desserts, beverages, service-ware, disposables, etc. Report discrepancies, food shortages, special requests and complaints. Assist in the preparation and assembly of snacks. Prepare carts with the unit’s food based on census. Document daily onto log sheets {cleaning of dishwasher, refrigerators/freezers, sanitation buckets, etc.). Follow the proper procedures for diluting, labeling and use of chemicals. Report equipment that is not working properly and in need of repairs.

Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidate will have:
Experience in preparing large amounts of food;
Experience in transporting meals to serving kitchens;
Experience working with food services;
Experience working with ovens, grills, mixers, knives, blenders, peelers, can openers, slicers, etc.
Minimum Qualification
Eighth grade education.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
Working Conditions
This position will perform work primarily in a kitchen setting with exposure to high and low temperatures from ovens and freezers. Standing, walking, bending, squatting, and reaching above head and shoulders as well as the ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds is required. Incumbent may be exposed to minor physical harm such as cuts from knives, kitchen machinery and other kitchen equipment.
