As a member of the Data Science team, you will work with diverse and highly collaborative teams of product managers, engineers, and other data analysts to drive product impact. You will be working on exciting projects to provide the best user experiences to create, consume and enjoy content on our Music app or TikTok. You will have the opportunity to define metrics and identify opportunities from one of the richest data sets in the world, and convert insights into real changes, for both new initiatives and scaled products. You are a self-starter who is excited about data, excels in product logic thinking, clear communication, and brings distinctive problem-solving skills and impeccable business judgment.
As a Data Scientist working on products, you will identify new product opportunities, apply rigorous analytical methods, and drive sustainable product impact. The ideal candidate will have a background in using data to guide business decisions and will have experience with launching new product features.
About the team
The Product Data Analytics Team analyses a combination of product usage and product performance data to derive meaningful insights that would serve as a guide to better product and decision making for our business leaders. Our team will work through different business scenarios including improving TikTok In-App Search user experiences, Creator ecosystem, etc.. In addition, it is important to manage the data life cycle to ensure problems are quantitatively measured to propose logical solutions.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for data analysis work related to international product search business.
2. Lead a team in conducting in-depth analysis within the business domain. Identify optimization points that can enhance the user search experience across various products based on business logic. Provide clear and actionable optimization solutions, and collaborate with product, operations, algorithm, and development teams to implement these solutions, resulting in actual business growth.
3. Lead the team in designing and analyzing various A/B experiments within the search business, evaluating product optimization outcomes, assessing market activity impact, analyzing fluctuations in key metrics, and establishing data systems.
4. Stay informed about industry trends and gain insights into the search business. Offer directional analysis guidance to the search business, participate in critical business decisions, and provide solutions to key and challenging issues within the search business.
5. Responsible for building specialized models to support the business.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a preference for majors in mathematics, statistics, or computer-related fields.
2. Data-sensitive with the ability to quickly grasp business concepts, uncover business details, and establish connections between data. Proficient in SQL, with experience in R, Python, or other scripting languages. Possess machine learning capabilities, including regression, classification, and clustering. Experience in internet data analysis is a plus.
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Prior experience in search business and team management is a plus.
4. Strong learning ability and curiosity. Keen interest in the internet industry with a desire for long-term development within the field.
