Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
We are looking for a Director of Global EHS & Physical Security to join the team. The areas of responsibilities are as follows:
Area of Responsibility – EHS
• Heads EHS organization assigned, leads all related management and staff and reports dotted line into Head of EHS for DI.
• Serves as key contact for all EHS matters in BU.
• Collaborates with Global Board EHS, management teams and other support functions and services as well as all relevant interfaces on Business level globally.
• Develops, supports, adapts, and promotes global EHS programs and initiatives and monitors their effectiveness such as DEGREE and LCA.
• Develops and drives global DI SW EHS Strategy, in-line with organization’s mission and goals.
• Plans and aligns the budget and personnel resources for EHS on Business level.
• Ensures an adequate competence management and training system for EHS- related competences in the Business.
• Ensures the implementation and drives continuous improvement of Business EHS Management System.
• Plans, implements, and follows up the audit / assessment / inspections program – including certification audits such as ISO.
• Ensures that applicable statutory requirements are identified and accorded to
• Contributes to analyzing stakeholder EHS requirements.
• Ensures implementation of EHS related risk management in processes, projects and products.
• Ensures and controls EHS related reporting.
• Ensures adequate EHS related communication towards internal and external stakeholder and authorities.
Area of Responsibility – Physical Security
• Security Strategy: Developing and implementing an organization-wide physical security strategy and policy that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Risk Assessment: Identifying potential security risks and vulnerabilities and conducting risk assessments to determine the appropriate security measures needed.
• Security Systems: Managing and implementing security systems and technologies, such as access control, surveillance cameras, alarms, and intrusion detection systems.
• Security Personnel: Supervising security personnel, including security guards and officers, and ensuring they are trained and equipped to handle security incidents effectively.
• Emergency Response: Developing and maintaining emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, for various security incidents.
• Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant security regulations, laws, and industry standards.
• Physical Access Control: Overseeing physical access control to facilities, including the issuance of identification badges and keys.
• Security Investigations: Conducting or overseeing investigations into security breaches, theft, or unauthorized access and coordinating with law enforcement as necessary.
• Security Training: Providing security training and awareness programs to employees to enhance security consciousness and reduce security risks.
• Security Policies and Procedures: Developing and implementing security policies and procedures, which may include visitor management, security clearances, and incident reporting.
• Security Audits: Conducting regular security audits and assessments to identify weaknesses and areas for improvement.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health, and Safety, Security or other related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
• Post graduate degree from an accredited university or college in Environmental, Health & Safety Management, Security or other related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with progressive responsibilities in EHS management (preferably with direct reports).
• A minimum of 4 years managing and developing multi-discipline teams, preferably with international reach across multiple practices.
• Strong knowledge of EHS&S regulations and standards across the globe.
• Ability to form, lead, motivate, mentor, and direct a strong and effective team, with the ability to influence and drive a culture of safety and sustainability.
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, including executive management, as well as the ability to engage field employees. Position also requires strong business skills including team building, leading, and influencing, and resilience and adaptability.
• Strong internal stakeholder management, interpersonal, analytical, organizational and research skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with significant experience with EHS software’s, data analytic tools, paired with focus on IT innovations.
• Professional certifications in EHS (e.g., IOSH) are advantageous.
• Internal audit experience is advantageous.
The salary range for this position is $133,300 to $239,900 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
