About the Agency: The Mississippi Department of Transportation is responsible for providing a safe intermodal transportation network that is planned, designed, constructed and maintained in an effective, cost efficient, and environmentally sensitive manner.

About the Position: Located in the Maintenance office. Second-level supervisory position accountable for coordinating and directing of the work of multiple maintenance supervisors. Jobs at this level may oversee more complex work or be requires to oversee work in multiple technical areas or departments. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.Acts as liaison between field maintenance personnel and district maintenance engineer, relaying instructions to the field and making reports.Hears complaints and grievances of individuals and towns in an assigned area.Estimates and initiates special maintenance projects for reseal work, patching of concrete roads, shoulder construction, litter control, and traffic control devices.Checks equipment and materials on hand.

Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency, 7+ years of experience, and 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
