As a Senior Payments Product Manager here at Citizens, you’ll be part of a diverse, newly formed, and evolving team driving payments innovation across the enterprise. The role will consist of building and bringing to market new Business Banking, Consumer, and Cross Border payment solutions.
The sky is the limit and creativity is highly valued. You’ll be meeting with fintechs on a regular basis and evaluating potential partnerships. In this context, storytelling and drafting executive presentations will be a key function of this role.
As this is a fast growing and evolving team, a desire and ability to wear many hats and pivot frequently is important. The ideal candidate would have a passion for Small Business and a creative, innovative mindset.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Contribute to Enterprise Payments and Business Banking strategy through deep market research and a holistic understanding of customer needs.
- Explore fintech partnerships and onboard new fintech vendors, including contract negotiations and risk assessments.
- Develop product solution including technical integrations, go to market strategy, risk management, marketing, customer onboarding and servicing, internal communications, sales training, and operational framework.
- Data analysis, tracking of KPIs, and revenue management are key functions of the role
- Help coordinate enterprise payments strategic and tactical initiatives- with an emphasis and focus on driving client value by leveraging the ongoing payments / digital evolution.
- Assess market opportunity, competitive offerings, customer needs, ROI, and the ability for the bank to differentiate itself and be seen by the market as an innovator across all relevant lines of business.
- Work with business stakeholders to identify and define client needs and emerging trends.
- Help with managing the development and maintenance of competitive analysis and market research for competitive offerings.
- Conduct research on product enhancements and new product offerings. Initiate product development cycle for agreed upon development initiatives.
- Continuously learn about technology and business changes and ensure appropriate steps are taken to meet requirements.
- Define, develop, and lead the implementation of product roadmaps and capabilities to support business and customer needs.
- Technical Excellence — Provide effective technical solutions to functional challenges. Apply current procedures and technologies to resolve business issues. Continuously builds knowledge-base and keeps up-to-date on technical and procedural job components.
- Products and Services — Research the target market to identify how product and services are sold and delivered. Identify product and service linkages across the business and enterprise.
- Agile Methodologies – Using agile methodologies, apply appropriate techniques to facilitate innovation and execution. Apply and interpret metrics to measure team progress and effectiveness.
- Requirements Analysis — Supervises the advanced use of requirements analysis tools and services, including prototyping and use cases. Produces detailed functional and information requirements models and documentation. Trains others on requirements work and quality reviews.
Qualifications:
- Ten years’ experience in Banking or Fintech, Payments experience preferred
- Skilled at drafting executive presentations and business cases
- Experience with Scrum at Scale and Jira software is a plus
- Comfortable with excel for reporting and data analytics
Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience

Schedule M-F 8-5 If based in Westwood MA or Johnston RI this role will be hybrid in office 3 days. Will consider fully remote for the right candidate.

The salary range for this position is $108,750-$181,250, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
