About Us
Our Direct Client is a vibrant community nestled in Castle Rock, Colorado. Their Application Services Division is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of software solutions, supporting various departments.
Role Overview
As a Principal Systems Analyst, you’ll be at the forefront of selecting, implementing, and supporting applications throughout their entire lifecycle. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of critical tasks, including requirements analysis, market assessment, solution evaluation, system architecture, data management, systems design, testing, and ongoing support and maintenance.
The role may also entail basic application configuration when necessary. Given the central role of data in our operations, a profound understanding of data, including knowledge of database structure, data models, table relationships, and the ability to write basic SQL statements, is crucial. Your SQL skills should extend to data retrieval from multiple tables, filtering, utilizing database functions (e.g., count(), min(), max()), and identifying duplicate data records.
Security and infrastructure awareness are also key, as you will need to identify and mitigate risks and engage with relevant stakeholders. Depending on your skillset, you may also be asked to manage vendors and collaborate on contract authoring.
Position Structure
• The Application Services Team oversees software solutions throughout their lifecycle.
• Systems Analysts operate within the Information Technology department andare assigned to logical groups of products for support, often categorized by department/office, and sometimes by product or process.
• You will report to the IT Manager, who, in turn, reports to the Senior Manager over Application Services, culminating with oversight from the CIO.
• The Principal Systems Analyst role falls under the People & Admin team, which currently comprises 10 team members. As the fourth Principal in the team, there is potential for future leadership, with 1-2 senior analysts possibly reporting to you.
Supported Business Domains
The People & Admin team concentrates on products related to people and administration management. This includes support for multiple departments.
Specific Systems, Applications, and Technologies
While prior knowledge of specific systems, applications, or technologies is not mandatory, you will be expected to rapidly familiarize yourself with these upon joining the team. Our key processes include a hybrid approach combining elements of both waterfall and scrum methodologies, and we follow ITIL principles for IT service management, with training provided.

• Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams), with potential use of MS Project
• Azure Dev/Ops (for product backlog items)
• Lucid (for diagramming and whiteboarding)
• ServiceNow (for incidents, service requests, demands, and applications)
Though not an exhaustive list, your familiarity with any ERP and Treasurer-based technology is essential. It’s worth noting that our technology landscape is dynamic, with plans to re-evaluate and adapt the Treasurer’s office technology.
