This position is funded through August 31, 2025, with federal stimulus funds. Continuation of the position beyond that date is contingent upon available funding.
The posted salary range budgeted for this position is between $4,273.17 and $5,590.83 monthly. New hires will be typically brought into the agency at a starting salary between the posted minimum and the average pay of employees in their same classification in the Office of Technology unless the average pay exceeds the midpoint for the state position’s classification salary group. Offers will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications and will thoughtfully consider internal pay equity for agency staff who perform similar duties and have similar qualifications. The top half of the posted salary range is generally reserved for candidates who far exceed the requirements and qualifications for the role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The PC Support Administrator position in the Technology Services Division of the Texas Education Agency (TEA) serves as a member of the PC Support team. The work involves providing customer support for agency information technology systems, software, printers, and Audio Visual. Work also involves planning and analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. Works under minimal direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. This position will report to the PC Support Manager under the Director of ITS Operations within the Office of Technology Services.
The PC Support Administrator may work a hybrid schedule with at least three in-person days each week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Provides support for PC hardware/software to the Agency and ensure that all systems have a 99% uptime.
• Responsibilities include performing complex technical work involving support of Agency personal computing workstations.
• Expertise in setting up, operating, and maintaining audio visual equipment to support collaboration between remote and on-site participants.
• Provides technical analysis and resolution of system problems. Identifies, researches, and recommends options to management. Ensures that all Security policies are followed.
• Ensure that all help desk request and incidents are resolved and closed in a timely manner based upon priority. Ensure that all changes are approved by ICCB and or ITS management.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
Experience: At least [2] year of of experience in supporting Hardware, Software needs for an agency.
Substitutions: Each additional year of related experience above the required minimum may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Share the belief that all Texas students can achieve at high levels and are able to succeed in college, career, or the military.
• Extensive knowledge of Desktop, Laptop, and peripheral support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to organize work and track change in a highly complex and dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and applicable software necessary to perform work assignments. (Microsoft Office and O365 products)
• Problem resolution and ability to identify and implement best practices.
• Ability to work on concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment while effectively organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating work assignments.
• Communicate effectively with individuals at many managements and technical levels, both verbally and in writing.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, and agency management and staff at all levels; work effectively both independently and as part of a team; exercise sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
• Willingness and ability to work occasional overtime and/or a flexible schedule as needed to meet required deadlines; willingness and ability to comply with all agency policy and applicable laws; willingness and ability to comply with all applicable health and safety rules, regulations, and standards.
