JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem, and determines and implements solution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additional duties may be added or assigned at any time.
• Be the Primary point of contact for IT issues presented by the ship crew
• Provide remote technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, applications, and hardware that is onboard LEX vessels.
• Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software onboard LEX vessels.
• Write training manuals.
• Document internal procedures.
• Maintain inventory of all equipment, software, and software licenses onboard LEX vessels
• Assist with purchasing of IT equipment
• Prepare new hardware for deployment onboard vessels
• Work with Logistics to ensure hardware is delivered to vessels in a timely manner
• Work on special projects assigned by the Fleet IT Director and Fleet IT Superintendent
• Travel to vessels for support as needed
• Adhere to company policies in the performance of daily activities
• Be able to participate in on-call rotation
• Work with vendors to line up support and service calls as needed
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
• Tech savvy with working knowledge of office software products, databases, networking, and remote-control software.
• Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues
• Proficiency in English.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Customer-oriented and cool-tempered.
• Strong sense of discretion & confidentiality required.
• Good diagnostic skills
• Possess a passport and be able to travel internationally as needed
• Be able to travel domestically as needed
SKILLS
Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems and understanding of networking technologies. Strong skills in time management, handling multiple tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines. The ability to work independently as well as with others in a team environment. Other requirements include:
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows.
• Familiarity with Active Directory.
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Understanding of anti-virus and policies connected with AV tools.
• Familiarity with remote support
• Some experience with phone systems – Mitel preferred
• Application Support Experience
Other Skills/Abilities
• Strong skills in organization, time management, handling multiple tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
• Proficient computer skills in the Windows operating system, including both word-processing and spreadsheet applications.
• The ability to be proactive and work independently as well as with others in a team environment.

$60,000 – $65,000 a year
This position is eligible for an annual bonus opportunity.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee will also be required to write and type. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
COMPENSATION STATEMENT
Lindblad Expeditions determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate’s region/town/cost of living.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
