$28.15 – $43.05 Hourly

Note: The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City’s step placement policy.

DEPARTMENTAL INFORMATION

The Construction Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating division invoices, coordinate and facilitate division monthly trust documents; manage LFR documentation; responsible for managing lower-level administrative support staff.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is located in the Planning and Development Division of the Airports Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the general direction of an immediate supervisor. The Construction Project Coordinator is primarily responsible for providing advanced clerical and administrative support to an engineering work unit. A general knowledge of engineering organization, management, and administrative concepts and principles is required prior to assuming the position. Essential job functions include: performing specialized clerical and administrative tasks in support of the overall operations of the work unit; answering routine correspondence and supplying data used in preparing periodic reports; coordinating and maintaining division or section administrative functions and operations; assisting in the planning, preparation, and administration of the division or section budgets, goals and objectives; and exchanging information with various organizational personnel, outside agency representatives, and citizens regarding department and division policies, procedures, and operations. The employee must utilize independent judgment and discretion regarding information and/or activity of the work unit that may be confidential in nature. Direct supervision of clerical or lower-level support staff may be exercised by deciding on work methods to accomplish routine tasks or special projects. The work products are subject to review by the supervisor for quality, accuracy of information and adherence to department or City policy and procedures.

DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with architects and engineers on design and contractors on construction projects. Experience to include project controls such as design and/or construction project budgeting, invoicing, and scheduling.
  • Ability to prepare, track, and coordinate monthly Trust items for all design and construction projects.
  • Experience with writing and editing design and construction contract documents.
  • Strong skill in using the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using Access, Project, or other database software.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Primarily inside in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Subject to sitting, standing, walking, or using a telephone for extended periods of time.
  • Subject to continuous exposure to light and glare from a computer.
  • Subject to local travel on an occasional basis.
  • Occasionally required to work beyond normal working hours.

Note: Typical City employee working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, working hours vary (may require work to begin before 8:00 a.m. and/or end beyond 5:00 p.m., and/or may require work on weekends and holidays), and are subject to change, based on the duties and location of the position and the business needs of the assigned work unit/department.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Near vision enough to read and draft documents such as written communications or reports both manually and machine operated.
  • Speech and hearing enough to communicate in person and by telephone.
  • Manual and finger dexterity enough to operate office equipment such as keyboards, telephones, 10-key, etc.

Pay Method: City employees are required to receive pay electronically, either via direct deposit or pay card.
