Under the guidance of the GMR safety team’s Director of Quality Assurance, the GMR Safety Analyst – Ground collaborates and coordinates with all GMR air entities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards while maintaining high-quality performance. The analyst helps to foster a culture of continuous improvement and is responsible for recognizing opportunities for improvement, serving as a Champion for change management initiatives, planning, developing, and implementing new and/or improved safety processes and structures, and ensuring effectiveness of system changes.

  • Facilitates standardization/harmonization of all aspects of the collective ground ambulance safety programs.
  • Analyze safety and quality-related data to identify trends, patterns, and areas that need improvement. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to management.
  • Works with the GMR VP of Safety, GMR Director of Quality Assurance, GMR National Air President, GMR air entity leadership, and safety staff to establish clear safety objectives.
  • In conjunction with the GMR VP of Safety, GMR Director of Quality Assurance, GMR Ground group President, GMR ground entity leadership, and safety staff – define methods, processes, and structure needed to meet safety goals.
  • Collaborates with GMR ground entity leaders and safety staff to identify and implement best practices, uniform safety systems, and processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks associated with operations. This may involve recommending and executing changes to processes, equipment, protocols, support structures, etc.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and open dialogue at all levels of the organization to enable a sustainable culture of safe operations.
  • Responsible for compliance and enforcement with relevant State and Federal safety regulations.
  • Collaborates with GMR ground entity leaders and safety staff to ensure compliance with safety system and quality assurance mandates across all ground service lines to ensure uniformity, effectiveness, and ongoing relevance to the changing aviation environment.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable regulations impacting ground abulance safety and quality assurance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in aviation safety preferred.
  • Project Management certification or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience in ground EMS, safety, experience with the development and implementation of FAA-compliant Safety Management Systems.
  • Proven experience in change management and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions within the policies and procedures of the organization as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with:
  1. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
  2. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) & HAZMAT regulations
  3. Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) regulations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with GMR ground entity leaders and safety staff to ensure compliance with safety and quality system mandates across all ground service lines to ensure uniformity, effectiveness, and ongoing relevance to the changing aviation environment.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable regulations impacting air-ambulance safety.
  • Collaborates with GMR air entity leaders and safety staff to identify and implement best practices, create uniform safety systems, and improve processes.
  • Maintains and monitors safety information systems and data to accurately measure safety performance. As necessary, recommend changes or enhancements.
  • Establishes relevant predictive analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) that can be linked back to management actions across all GMR air entities.
  • Monitor and perform periodic audits of all GMR air entities to ensure compliance with internal safety policies and procedures. Documents audit findings, make recommendations, and monitor corrective actions.
  • Reviews and recommends initiatives to enhance safety in emergency vehicle operation, maintenance, standardization, and training.
  • Advises the GMR Director of Quality Assurance on decisions regarding planning, forecasting, and measuring safety management performance through audits, investigations, and data mining.
  • Periodically administers safety culture surveys to measure levels of safety awareness, engagement, and compliance.
  • Collaborates with GMR air entity leaders and safety staff to drive efficiency and uniformity in their respective safety training programs to the extent possible.
  • Develops routine safety communications (newsletters, lessons learned, etc.) for entity wide distribution.
