Job Summary
AUSA News is looking for a talented and motivated Freelance Video Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of experience in video editing, broadcast production, or a related field, but we are willing to train talented candidates who are passionate about pursuing a career in television broadcasting.
Responsibilities
As a Freelance Video Editor, you will use your video editing skills to help assemble video segments for broadcast using industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere. You will work closely with producers, directors, and other staff to ensure that all content meets the highest standards of quality and is delivered on time. Additionally, you will assist with the setup and operation of audio, video, lighting, and other equipment for live and recorded television broadcasts. This includes performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, and collaborating with producers, directors, and other staff to determine the technical requirements for each broadcast. You will have the opportunity to use your technical skills to help ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and that each broadcast runs smoothly. You will also stay up to date with new technology and best practices in the field to help us continue to produce high-quality television broadcasts.
Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience in video editing, broadcast production, or a related field (preferred but not required)
- A strong interest in video editing, broadcast production, or related field
- A willingness to learn complex technical systems quickly
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 lbs

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $37,500.00 – $53,572.00 / year.
