The AWS Risk and Resiliency team supports datacenter site selection through performing technical due diligence on prospective datacenter locations to identify liability, site development, and operational risks. The AWS Risk and Resiliency team is seeking an environmental noise specialist to perform sound and vibration modelling of future AWS infrastructure to ensure expected emissions are compliant with applicable standards. The role will identify and detail any mitigating measures needed for compliance.
Key job responsibilities
– Model the expected sound and vibration emissions of datacenter equipment (use of CadnaA or SoundPLAN is preferred)
– Conducting ambient sound levels and/or equipment source measurements using a Class 1 or Class 2 sound level meter.
– Determine whether expected sound and vibration emissions are compliant with applicable standards.
– Identify and detail any mitigating measures needed for compliance.
– Report on findings and summarize any identified risks to project timelines, costs, or feasibility

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelors degree in acoustics, engineering, environmental science or related field of study
– 5+ years of experience in acoustic engineering or consulting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Masters degree or Ph.D in acoustics, engineering, environmental science or related field of study
– 10+ years’ experience in acoustic engineering or consulting

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
