What You’ll Do:

The Office of School and District Improvement is seeking a District Case Management Specialist to conduct monitoring and coaching for school districts in Southern Ohio. If space is available, this position will be headquartered at the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center in Wilmington.

Leadership : Case Management Specialists, in collaboration with the office Director and Case Manager, support the development and implementation of Department-wide, regionally focused collaborative teams charged with aligning systems, processes and procedures to provide a unified system of support for designated districts and schools.

  • The Case Management Specialist participates in the design, implementation, and monitoring of unified Department support plans for designated districts and schools.

Embedded Support and Monitoring: The specialists monitor the implementation of regionally focused support plans both in collaboration with the Department-wide, regionally focused collaborative teams and through ongoing collaboration with the case manager, regional support providers, and district and school leaders. Support and monitoring includes, but is not limited to:

  • Embedded support for identified districts and schools;
    • Supporting District Implementation Teams, Building Implementation Teams and Teacher-based teams to engage in the Ohio Improvement Process.
    • Collaboration of support with regional service providers (Educational Service Center and State Support Team members) to implement the support plan.
  • Record-keeping and sharing of support plan implementation progress in an accessible format;
  • Supporting the development and submission of quarterly and annual progress reports to Office, Center and Department leadership.

Capacity Development and Resource Design and Implementation: The specialists design and implement Department resources, guidance and tools focused on supporting identified districts and schools as they develop and create quality improvement plans (One Plans) and utilize the Ohio Improvement Process. This includes:

  • Building regional capacity (Educational Service Center and State Support Team members) to support Department resources.
  • Reviewing and providing feedback for identified district and school One Plans and the use of the Support Schools Tool.

Communication : The specialists support the Case Manager for internal and external communication for the Department-wide, regionally focused collaborative teams. The specialists implement an effective feedback loop that includes:

  • Communication with superintendents, central office administrators, principals, and teachers about the knowledge and skills needed to facilitate policies, processes and practices that focus on improving student achievement as outlined in support plans (for example, the Ohio Improvement Process).
  • Communication to align support with other key Department, district staff, and partners including weekly and/or quarterly updates of team progress.
  • Communication to Office, Center and Department leadership regarding the progress of collaborative teamwork and implementation of support plans.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications : Completion of a Master’s Degree in one of the following areas: education, business administration, social sciences, public administration, marketing, law, economics, psychology, organizational development, public policy or a related field; and 3 years of experience in an education or non-profit setting, which must include embedded support and coaching activities, and developing, writing, and/or monitoring improvement or strategic plans.

Preferred Qualifications : At least 3 years of experience as a licensed administrator (director, assistant principal, principal, superintendent, etc.) in a K-12 setting with experience coaching teachers and staff.
