Overview
Goldbelt Frontier, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Alaskan Native Corporation Goldbelt, Frontier places an emphasis on research and development, behavioral health, and medical and technological support services. Frontier is ideally suited to work with the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services. Goldbelt Frontier’s leadership offers specific expertise related to medical staffing, behavioral health, and program development CONUS and OCONUS.
Summary:
The contractor shall provide on-site technical management (TM) support for construction projects at DDEAMC. The TM shall assist with the planning and coordination of the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems at DDEAMC. Assist in the planning and coordination of projects working in conjunction with facility personnel and participate in the conceptual development, organization, scheduling, and implementation of construction projects.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide on-site technical support in planning and preparing specifications.
- Experience working with systems for medical and dental facilities, technical and research laboratories, industrial facilities, and office buildings.
- Work with Facilities Engineering to schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
- Research and document as-built conditions and/or identify changes to the physical environment to support proposed mission changes/requirements.
- Produce and read drawings and specifications for new construction or modification of existing architectural systems.
- Read and interpret building plans, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, sketches, and maintenance or repair manuals.
- Support in technical reviews.
- Collect, review and document needed activities to support Medical Facility repair efforts.
- Plan and coordinate various phases of work to accommodate the needs of tenant customers and those occupying spaces surrounding the work.
- Possess knowledge of conventional technical concepts, principles, and practices, along with a broad range of operational experience in all inter-related fields such as mechanical, plumbing, and medical gas systems. Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to customers, administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the Medical Center’s Facilities Management Department.
- Review contracts and assist Facilities Engineering to negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Review necessary permits and licenses for compliance with regulations, codes, and guidance.
- Take actions to coordinate impacts with facility and customers resulting from delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
- Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
- Team with Government QAs to investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Possess knowledge of conventional technical concepts, principles, and practices, along with a broad range of operational experience in all inter-related fields such as mechanical, plumbing, and medical gas systems. Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to give clear instructions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of Technical Construction experience.
- Experience investigating construction sites.
- Experience reading construction plans.
- Experience working with systems for medical and dental facilities, technical and research laboratories, industrial facilities, and office buildings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Compensation for this position is $105,000.00- $113,000.00 annually
