Meet the team:
Dexcom’s legal team is growing and we’re looking for an experienced attorney to serve as Dexcom’s Lead Legal Counsel, Employment. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Corporate Governance and Employment, this role has primary responsibility for employment law for our North America region. You will work with a team of motivated and passionate attorneys and business partners globally and coordinate daily with local human resource leaders to support our growing employee population.
Where you come in:
- You partner closely with Human Resources and business partners to provide day to day counseling, supervise investigations, evaluate legal risks and provide subject matter expertise on a broad range of labor and employment issues, including recruiting and hiring, training, employee management, complex leaves of absences, and HR best practices.
- You develop, update, and implement employment policies (including hiring practices, performance management, employee relations, internal investigations, terminations, leaves of absence, accommodations, compensation, and benefits) to ensure best practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- You collaborate with the Human Resources team to generate, update, and implement training on HR and employment law topics.
- You manage pre-litigation and litigation disputes related to employment matters, including preparing litigation holds and document gathering.
- You partner with cross-functional teams, to provide strategic, business-oriented employment law guidance for a global organization.
- You support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
What makes you successful:
- You have a minimum of 8 years of related employment law experience at top-tier law firm and/or in house (preferred).
- You must be comfortable presenting to, counseling, and interacting with Human Resources and business leaders.
- You are recognized as an expert in your field within the organization.
- You are committed to teamwork and maintaining strong relationships and lines of communication with business partners and other key stakeholders across the organization.
- You have excellent decision-making skills, practical business judgement, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- You are able to work in person in the San Diego office as required, local within 75 miles is strongly preferred.

Salary:
$141,800.00 – $236,400.00
