Why does the job exist?

The IT Applications Developer III will:

  • Have a good understanding of the Salesforce platform, who can understand both our current setup and business objectives to quickly identify areas of improvement.
  • Improve and enhance the Salesforce platform and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) functionality.
  • Gather requirements and feedback, design scalable best practice solutions, and contribute to the agency product road map.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of user management including support tickets, training, and designing solutions with user satisfaction a priority.
  • Keep the wider organization’s best interests in mind when composing and deploying any code.

How does it get done?

p> The IT Applications Developer III is responsible for:

  • All aspects of user and license management including new user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, organization wide defaults (OWD), sharing rules;
  • Salesforce configuration changes, including (but not limited to): Flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administration, dashboards and reports;
  • Identifying and gathering requirements, translating into best practice, scalable solutions with a focus on exceptional user experience;
  • Identifying unused or underutilized platform features;
  • Assisting in creating a platform roadmap and define priorities, collaborate with division and vendor stakeholders;
  • Owning the communication of any platform changes to end users and stakeholders;

  • Ideal Candidate

    The ideal candidate has:

    • 3 years or more experience with Salesforce and RPA technologies;
    • Trailhead Badges/Super Badges;
    • Salesforce Certification
    • Demonstrated continued personal/professional development
    • Active in the Salesforce community
    • Experience implementing Salesforce configuration changes, including (but not limited to): Flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administration, dashboards and reports
    • Basic knowledge of HTML, XML, Flex, ASP, SQL, Java or C++, REST and SOAP-based web services

    Minimum Qualification

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree and four (4) years of experience in software programming. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

    • Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position.

    Employment Requirements

    Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

    Working Conditions

    Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage. Travel statewide is required.
