Why does the job exist?
Incumbent will provide social work services to residents of the Adult Psychiatric Division (APD).
How does it get done?
Incumbent works with treatment team to facilitate discharge planning activities such as contacting potential discharge locations, providing necessary documents, being a contact point for potential discharge locations.

Ideal Candidate
Experience working with treatment planning;
Experience working with providing direct effective treatment to patients;
Experience working with various psychotherapeutic modalities;
Experience working with mental ill;
Must be licensed in accordance with the Social Work Practice Act,
Sections 61-31-1 through 61-31-25 NMSA 1978, and 16.63.1 through 16-
63-20 NMAC.
Minimum Qualification
Associate’s degree in Human Services or Social Sciences and two (2) years of experience in mental health and/or substance abuse counseling. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
