Sales Compensation Specialist, Amazon Ads

Amazon Advertising is seeking a Sales Compensation Analyst within its successful Global Advertising business. The ideal candidate will be an analytical thinker who can demonstrate teamwork, relationship building and the ability to influence at senior levels of the organization. They will thrive in fast-paced dynamic environments and will be someone who is flexible, detail-oriented, passionate about the customer and comfortable working with numerous stakeholders across the organization and worldwide in an environment that has a considerable amount of ambiguity.

The successful candidate will have deep experience with variable compensation or sales operations programs, designing solutions to support high growth. They should be able to juggle competing projects, execute against road maps to support the variable compensation program, and work across multiple teams to solve complex problems. This person will work closely with the Sales leaders, Finance, HR, and other Amazon business partner teams to negotiate, design, and deploy sales incentive plans and policies and program.

The successful candidate must be able to roll-up their sleeves and implement effective processes, plans, and controls. They will be passionate about their work, detail-oriented, resourceful, analytical, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They will have communication and partner-relationship skills, deep background in sales compensation or sales operations, and be a passionate advocate for creating programs that deliver exceptional results from teams.

Key job responsibilities

– Coordinate all of the critical activities that drive the quarterly incentive payout processes

– Oversee implementation assessment of sales incentive compensation plan changes

– Lead sales readiness related to incentive program design, including content strategy and training delivery and ICM enablement

– Propose and present ideas effectively, influencing decisions and outcomes

– Use data and analysis to model of incentive plan effects and to make recommendations

– Process improvement. Be brave to challenge status quo and actively provide input supported by gained experience and insights on past and current role duties.

– Identify reporting issues, gaps in processes, and drive timely resolution.

A day in the life

– Partner with boundary partners in Compensation Enablement and Sales Operations in execution of payout activities

– Serve as a key contributor to payout review documents highlighting process gaps and help needed to resolve issues in payout activities

– Escalates and drives issues to resolution.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– Bachelor’s degree in related field

– Experience in sales compensation, finance or sales operations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience implementing variable sales compensation plans

– Experience working with Sales CRM and Incentive Compensation tools (such as Salesforce or Cognos)

– Ability to define, aggregate, and analyze metrics to assess performance drivers

– Experience setting, interpreting and governing policies for a large-scale program

– Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $54,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $131,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
