Event Content & Engagement Manager, AWS Partner Organization

The AWS Partner Organization (APO) is look for an experienced Content & Engagement Manager to lead the strategy, design, and delivery of compelling content and large-scale event programs to AWS partners. The role serves as the lead for the partner organization’s event strategy and activation in global events, and requires exceptional event management, relationship building, and project management skills. This External Events & Content Manager will advocate for a bar raising partner experience and set the foundation and framework for program growth, while supporting global collaboration across AWS.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the event industry or leading events for a global tech organization with an understanding of the agency, platform, and customer side. This highly motivated, extremely organized individual must have experience developing strategy, leading complex initiatives, delivering global programs, and influencing to drive decisions.

This individual must be comfortable establishing clear processes and have the ability to work backwards from a business goal. They will utilize their attention to detail, event experience, project management, and excellent written communication skills to ensure high quality results.

Key job responsibilities
• Oversee all aspects of APO external events – including ideation, planning, design, and execution.
• Deliver against established milestones to achieve team and stakeholder goals, contributing to long term strategic vision and process development.
• Manage production and delivery of all event deliverables related to content development, program coordination, operational execution and reporting.
• Create comprehensive event project plans, conduct regular checkpoints with deliverable owners, and escalate risks and challenges appropriately.
• Set meeting cadence, lead with clear agendas and follow up with detailed notes and action items.
• Support venue search and contracting, and other procurement efforts, as required.
• Oversee speaker logistics, including: event communications, scheduling reviews and rehearsals, and providing virtual or on-site speaker support for events.
• Work directly with content owners to identify deliverables and deadlines, communicate expectations, and ensure results.
• Manage leadership reviews, weekly project meetings, and event check-ins.
• Deliver post mortem event retrospective with data-driven analysis including attendee feedback, goal attainment, and recommendations for future event improvements.
• Ensure continuous testing, measuring, scaling, and evolving event programs.
• Creatively deliver high-quality customer-facing events with frugality.
• Support on-site execution of events.
• Ability to travel (20%-30%) and work across time zones.

A day in the life

This role will work both closely with Events, Marketing, and Business Operations teams on developing and delivering engaging programs for partners within our AWS Partner Network (APN). You will have end-to-end responsibility for the Partner Org’s role in the overall global event including but not limited to: coordinating event communications, event operational excellence, content procurement, onsite logistics management, and post event analysis with data-driven insights.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 7+ years of program or project management experience

– Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

– Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

– Bachelor’s degree

– 8 Years experience in event marketing and event management both in person and virtual

– Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel to manupulate and analyze data

– Proficient with various vendor conference platforms

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 10+ years’ experience scaling global events.

– 3+ years’ experience in tech industry.

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to deliver messaging clearly and succinctly.

– Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership.

– Outstanding leadership and relationship building skills with the ability to build consensus and drive decision-making across the organization.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
