Summary:
Acts as top-level technical lead on the most complex and large-scale technical applications and coordinates development of objectives, strategy and programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with executive club stakeholders, national office business line executives, department managers and third-party software solution providers on organizations most complex and broad products.
- Works with clubs and business partners to understand goals including club strategy, number of required emails.
- Balances diverse and conflicting requests and priorities to establish a product vision and a tactical roadmap.
- Monitors usage and feedback, establishes goals and defines program requirements and success criteria for new initiatives as standalone and in conjunction with other business channels.
- Effectively communicates with multiple teams and with club/national office executives and practitioners.
- Guides efforts of staff to ensure broader national office technology initiatives are communicated in a manner that demonstrably drives strategy.
- Serves as the subject matter expert or the product expert in a business or functional area.
- Provides any necessary training, webinars or on-site, to the AAA/CAA clubs for software platform applications and their support modules.
- Maintains detailed knowledge of market, consumer, technological, and industry trends related to business line, and develops/facilitates the development of adjustment to plans based upon environmental developments/trends.
- Establishes disciplined practices that can be replicated across all product owners and obtain governance approvals as needed for these processes to support club participation in distributed development.
- Provides facilitation and coordination of collaborative planning, design, development and implementation through national office units’, clubs and governance bodies.
- Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through collaboration with clubs, national office and third-party software solution providers to direct development priorities to realize a product vision.
- Champions the user experience and regularly reports progress and results to stakeholder groups (staff and executives at clubs and AAA, Inc.).
- Has strong understanding of market conditions and trends, proposes and develops new programs, develops program proposals and business plans, coordinates planning and development across the national office, clubs and partners, and manages performance against program success criteria.
- Maintains a solid technical background in related software integration and implementation techniques.
- Manages vendor relationships including acquisition, renewal and contract negotiations.
- Builds prototypes or proofs of concept for later consideration as part of the finished product.
- This position will work alongside other business and functional areas to develop and optimize best practices for team member engagement or other club objectives.
Requirements, Competencies and Certifications:
- Uses time effectively; anticipates obstacles, adjusts priorities as needs change and keeps others informed of progress.
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership in both business and technology roles.
- Has strong working knowledge of complex technical implementations and translates for end user understanding. Gains a deep understanding of the product’s business and technical requirements and designs/defines solutions to meet these requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and be adaptable in a fast paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or information technology, organizational communications or related field and;
- Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in product management, product planning or equivalent experience with exposure to product and software development cycles and engineering.
Hiring Range:
- $88,735 – $111,806
- Position eligible for participation in AAA, Inc. Annual Incentive Plan.
