Program Coordinator – Kimmel Belonging and Engagement Hub – 4 Positions (16071)

Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville is currently seeking four Program Coordinator(s) for the Kimmel Belonging and Engagement Hub. The Kimmel Belonging and Engagement Hub (KBEH) is the result of a recent merger between the Kimmel Student Involvement Center and the Inclusive Excellence, Education, and Development Hub, an effort to better position the university to deliver services and offer programming to advance student success and inclusive excellence, nurture belonging and well-being for all students, and provide opportunities that support students’ development into culturally competent, socially responsible leaders on campus, at work and in their communities.

The Program Coordinator will oversee programs and projects that advance student belonging and student success by: implementing program priorities, setting goals, providing program knowledge and expertise, providing leadership for the development of programs, administering programs and special projects, assessing and analyzing data for continuous improvement, and working strategically and collaboratively with campus and community partners.

Further, this position will serve on campus committees that develop large scale collaborative events/activities which impact student success, learning, and development, and support students by providing recommendations such as appropriate referrals for students regarding educational, financial, personal, and career concerns.

Program Coordinator: Community Engagement

Responsible for providing experiences through the Kimmel Belonging and Engagement Hub (KBEH) where students engage in action that improves their local and global communities by affirming personal identities and group memberships, enhancing understanding of and respect for human dignity, and disrupting bias within themselves. This includes direct supervision of the AMERICORPS team member. Creates opportunities for campus and community connections through the planning and execution of the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, Service Saturday Program Series, and other community service opportunities. In addition to providing service opportunities, this position will oversee the management of civic engagement education. This position will also help support the work of the Associate Director by incorporating Anti-racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ADEI) education and tenants into programming and workshops.

Program Coordinator: Student Organizations

Provides services related to the support, development, and assessment of student organizations, leaders, and advisors. They will be the primary resource for student organizations, developing and implementing training for organization leaders and advisors that align with the SIU System’s Anti-racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ADEI) Certificate Program in collaboration with the Inclusive Education and Training Coordinator. Oversee and support all student organizations. Maintain expert-level knowledge of the campus student engagement platform (Get Involved). They will also support the planning and implementation of signature student organization events funded through Student Government Programming Fund and serve as the advisor to one or more student organizations and committees that are closely connected to the KBEH such as, but not limited to, Student Organization Advisory Board, Student Government Finance Board, Fraternity and Sorority Life Governing Boards, and student programming committees.

Program Coordinator: Inclusive Education and Training

Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and assessment of leadership development efforts for students with formal and informal leadership roles focused on the intersection of career-readiness and ADEI competencies. Coordinates longitudinal ADEI leadership programs and the Sustained Dialogue Program, including coordination and oversight of the ADEI Certificate Program. Collaborates with campus partners to create a more equitable student experience through one-time and series-based trainings and workshops; including education on free speech, activism, allyship, and advocacy.

Program Coordinator: Identity and Belonging

Responsible for collaborating in the development and implementation of (9) cultural history/heritage month celebrations including: Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month; LGBTQIA+ History Month; Indigenous/Native American Heritage Month; Black Heritage Month; Wom*n’s History Month; Celebrate Diversity Month; Arab American Heritage Month; Jewish American Heritage Month; and Asian, Asian Pacific Islander, Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month. Designs, develops, implements, and assesses annual identity-based student welcome and graduation events each semester, effectively collaborating with a variety of campus departments, student organizations, and local organizations.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
