NATURE OF WORK:
Develops employee selection and promotion exams including multiple-choice exams, simulation-based exams, assessment centers, and structured interviews. Performs job analysis, statistical analysis, researches, trains, and resolves issues. Supervises and/or participates in the development and administration of various selection and promotional processes. Conducts recruitment and employment processing duties primarily for sworn police and fire positions. Coordinates Civil Service Board support activities. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Employment & Testing Manager.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology, behavioral sciences required or closely related field and three years specialized experience in multiple-choice and simulation-based exam development and validation required; or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience. Master’s degree in industrial psychology or related field may substitute for two years of required experience. Supervisory experience desired. Experience developing job simulation/assessment center exercises for Police & Fire and conducting job and item analysis preferred.
