Sartori is seeking a self-motivated individual to join the shipping and packaging team. This person is in charge of inspecting and receiving items, maintaining supply inventories, and operations equipment within their work area in a clean and organized manner. This team member will excel when working well with the other shipping team members and organizing the workload so that tasks are completed in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • In control of all outgoing loads and following loading procedures. Ensures outgoing load documentation and accuracy.
  • Is the authority for trailer inspections involving food safety issues or sources of contamination and reports deficiencies to their supervisor.
  • Receives and inspects incoming supplies and ingredients. Labels ingredients with the received date and transfer materials to their proper storage location.
  • Maintains shipping and receiving logs. Communicates any discrepancies with the Production Supervisor or Cheese Manufacturing Manager.
  • Implements daily motorized pallet truck inspections to assure the safety of equipment operation.
  • Observes and executes daily shipping cooler temperature checks and inspections.
  • Manages and maintains foot baths throughout the plant.
  • Monitors inventory of pallets, pouches, and other packaging supplies to ensure sufficient inventory levels. Submits purchase requisitions to the office administrative assistant or Production Supervisor.
  • Coordinates movement of materials and supplies between other facilities.
  • Follows sanitary sampling procedures for taking samples from 40 lb. cheese sample blocks. Re-seals and palletizes sample blocks.
  • Responsible for daily sanitation and housekeeping of dry storage areas, coolers, and motorized pallet trucks in accordance with the master cleaning schedule.
  • Maintains support as break relief for Packaging Operators and executes operations in this department.
  • Trains others in the essential duties and responsibilities within this department.
  • Complies with all company Safety, HACCP, and GMP policies
  • Immediately reports any food safety or quality issues to management or other individuals authorized to initiate action

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required.

Experience in a manufacturing setting or shipping department, preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Typically warm

SAMPLE WORK SCHEDULE: 12 hours shifts (2-2-3 rotating schedule) 4am-4pm

Hourly Wage: $19.50/HR to start with potential increase after probationary period
