Roles & Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
As the A/V Technician, the ideal candidate will be responsible for covering the company’s A/V needs and assisting the Help Desk team with support cases. A/V needs can vary from assisting with setup of internal meetings, establishing audio and video connections for employees, and setting up classroom and conference rooms for meetings, to inventory tracking, setting up company live streams, and more. Help Desk duties include accepting and completing IT support cases, installation of hardware and software as needed, and other Help Desk needs. The A/V Technician will also be responsible for assisting the IT Department with various projects and tasks as assigned.
- Setting up internal and external meetings for company including Zoom meetings, company live streams, marketing meetings and events, classroom rentals, conference room setups for meetings, and any other A/V assistance as needed.
- Inventory tracking of A/V and IT equipment such as cameras, mics, iPads, portable speakers, laptops, accessories , and other peripherals and equipment.
- A/V improvements as needed: Replacing and installing new A/V equipment.
- Troubleshooting issues or failures with A/V equipment.
- Occasionally travel to remote offices to train, set up A/V equipment, and/or provide Help Desk assistance.
- Coordinating with third party vendors for rentals or equipment.
- Perform IT support outside of A/V duties such as Help Desk and Maintenance support.
- Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to cases received through the IT Help Desk ticketing system on Salesforce.
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming concerns and issues related to systems, software, and hardware.
- Assist with moving employees’ hardware to different desks/locations, managing and updating IT inventory.
- Assist the IT Manager with product approvals, ordering, researching, and updating A/V and other IT equipment.
- Aid with cable management for workstations and equipment.
- Document internal procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as required .
Education & Experience
- A high school diploma is required
- 1 year of A/V experience is required.
- IT related degree preferred
- A+ Certification preferred
- A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of directly job-related experience required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with A/V equipment (cameras, mixers, mics, lavaliers, receivers, etc.)
- Experience with streaming services such as Streamyard, Zoom, Teams, etc.
- Experience with Help Desk or equivalent desktop support (1 year+ preferred).
- Knowledge of current Microsoft operating systems and products (Office, Teams, etc.)
- Excellent clear and effective communication skills for troubleshooting computer and network problems through phone calls and email.
- Understanding of network components such as network switches and Ethernet cables and cards.
- Time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment.
- Must be adaptable.
