Job Summary
Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with questions about academic program
  • Input recital attendance in Blackboard course site (MUSC 1030)
  • Assist faculty with social media (Facebook, Instagram) for the Music Department
  • Produce programs for Music Department concerts and recitals
  • Produce fliers and other promotional materials for concerts, recitals, and other department events
  • Maintain Music Department music libraries (Instrumental and Choral)
  • Maintain Private Lesson room schedules
  • Schedule end-of-semester juries

Other responsibilities:

  • Maintain piano dehumidifiers (check twice weekly)
  • Schedule piano tunings as needed
  • Set up and strike equipment and seating for student recitals
  • Assist PACE Staff in setting up and striking concerts from Main Stage and other venues
  • Maintain music instruments and check out to students as needed
  • Other duties as needed to support Music Department and the School of Visual and Performing Arts including but not limited to communication with full-time and adjunct faculty, attending faculty meetings, and supporting students, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Music and/or related training and experience.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Demonstrated ability to perform duties on own initiative with limited supervision.

Administrative experience and computer literacy.

Experience in publicity and public relations.

Ability to multitask and attention to detail.

Demonstrated understanding of a wide variety of musical genres, including but not limited to band, orchestra, chorus, musical theatre and applied lessons.

Experience coordinating events, performances and or festivals.
