We currently have a career opportunity for an Account Specialist I on the Raffles Team in our Chicago, IL office. If you like working in a lively, close knit team environment with flexibility, this is the role for you! This position will require the individual be in the office 3 days a week.

Your impact as an Account Specialist

Handles and/or performs the daily fulfillment of service requirements for select accounts or assists an Account Specialist II in the support of sophisticated or highly active accounts. This is achieved through effective communication and partnership with internal and outsourced Aon Client Services (ACS) colleagues.

This position reports to the Account Specialist Team Leader but is required to follow the direction of an Account Executive(s) and maintain effective and positive relationships with both internal and external clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assists Account Executive(s) on assigned accounts, handling key processes that serve clients and undertaking the client-facing and internal activities related to these processes. Identify and retrieve relevant compliance documentation necessary to process renewals, invoices, surplus lines filing and any other deliverables. Demonstrates strong interpersonal and project management skills. Uses a systematic approach to maintain regular contact with clients. Maintains rapport and open, effective communication.

  • Performs account servicing functions including miscellaneous office duties in support of account servicing.
  • Manages client open items lists and responds to client ad-hoc requests.
  • Actively supports and monitors the renewal process.
  • Where applicable, serves as the primary interface with Aon Client Services (ACS), coordinating activities of the client service team and ACS to ensure that key processes assigned are performed effectively.
  • Primary collaboratore with Aon accounting team on client invoicing and collections.
  • Receives and runs routine and complex coverage inquiries and endorsement requests. Serves as key client liaison for items such as certificates, auto IDs, location additions, invoices, WC posting notices, allocations, premium finance agreements, summaries of insurance, and policy transmittals.

Requirements

Must possess 1-3 years of commercial insurance or office experience a plus; will also consider recent graduate. Organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills, with an ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with attention to detail. Can successfully operate in a fast-paced output driven environment that requires staff members to react quickly and perform task that are not routine.

  • Ability to communicate both verbally and written with external and internal clients on client servicing activities
  • Must have strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
  • Must maintain appropriate insurance brokers license or obtain within 6 months of hire.

We offer you

The salary range for this position is $42,800 – 52,000 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
