First, the good news: Humans have installed a little over 1 TW of cumulative solar capacity over the last 20 years – solar is now the cheapest source of energy generation around the globe.
Now, the challenge: Humans have to build 3 TW of solar capacity every year for the next 30+ years. Planted is creating new technology to overhaul how we design, develop, and build solar power resources to make this happen.
And, we need help. We’re expanding our team of curious, collaborative, and hands-on engineers and operators. Come own large parts of product, company, or business development and help make our big plans a reality!
About The Role
This position will play a big role in helping to scale the R&D and commercial operations at the company. You’ll work closely with our Head of Finance, Operations Manager, and engineering leadership to ensure smooth and reliable financial operations.
The hourly pay range for this full-time position is $25 – $40 per hour. Pay within the range is based on candidate experience, job-specific skills, education, and work location. The target experience for the position is 1 – 10+ years
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing accounts payable and ensuring that vendors are paid in a timely manner
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
- Reviewing and entering bills in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with Company procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including matching vendor invoices to purchase orders and verifying good receipts
- Maintaining reconciliations for corporate credit cards
- Ensuring sales & use tax compliance by calculating required tax on invoices as necessary
- Creating and distributing Purchase Orders in accordance with Company procedures, including verifying purchase requisition details
- Improving efficiency of accounting operations and staying updated on accounting principles and regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
- Prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred.
- Experience with Quickbooks or NetSuite a plus.
- Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- A track record of organization, attention to detail, and project management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and succinctly.
- Hands-on aptitude, strong ownership mentality, and resourcefulness.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, reduce reasonable risks, and make good decisions with imperfect knowledge.
- Desire to wear multiple hats and act independently – especially in the short term.
