Position Summary
We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and tenacious person, with both the skills and inclination to enjoy a role that is diverse and multi-faceted. Duties focus mainly on Accounts Payable but also include working closely with all departments throughout Heath and handling general accounting duties. This person will report to the Accounting Manager and be an integral part of the Accounting and Finance team.
Position Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Receive, code, and process vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements in Netsuite and Bill.com
- Perform 3-way match for purchase orders
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors on invoice and payment queries
- Prepare, obtain approval for, and process weekly payments run through Bill.com and online vendor portals
- Prepare annual 1099 reporting requirements
- Coordinate with all departments and business locations, including the Newsstand, maintenance and engineering departments, Heath Home, and warehouse/shipping operations, to obtain paperwork needed in order to process invoices in a timely manner
General Accounting Duties
- Perform month-end close journal entries including prepaid expense amortization, vendor invoice accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist senior accountant with coding and receipt collection for corporate credit cards
- Assist the Accounting department with ad hoc accounting duties
- Maintain financial historical records
- Coordinate monthly royalty and quarterly commission payments
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of previous accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business or other major that includes accounting curriculum
- Prior ERP experience required in Netsuite and Bill.com
- Strong computer skills and competence with Excel/Google Sheets and Docs, Google Chat and Google Suite, with ease of adoption to new technologies
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good analytical skills including creative approaches to problem-solving, process improvement, and process automation
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be accurate, extremely detail-oriented, and deadline-driven with strong follow-up and resolution experience
- Experience with hybrid and team-based work structure
Work Environment/ Hours / Compensation
This position is a 6-month contract working onsite 5 days per week in our Sausalito offices. This position pays $40-$45 an hour, based on experience. The working days for this position are Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and works closely with the Senior Accountant.
