NATURE OF WORK:
Performs professional accounting work which may include overseeing lower-level accounting personnel in the performance of specialized accounting functions. Primary duties include organizing, maintaining, reviewing, recording, and interpreting financial records, preparing financial statements and reports, and participating in the design and revision of manual and automated accounting systems. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through reports, periodic internal and external audits, conferences, and results obtained.
Minimum Requirements
Accountant I: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Some related work experience desired. Some computer experience is desired. CPA desired. Must pass a criminal background check and polygraph.
Accountant II: Same as Accountant I, plus one year of experience in governmental accounting required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Accountant III: Same as Accountant II, plus two years of experience in governmental accounting required.
