POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is in the Office of Financial Management, reporting to the Revenue Management section. This is a full-time position that works closely with FDLE’s financial information and is responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, protected and in compliance with accounting standards. This position requires excellent customer service skills as it will require interacting with internal and external customers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Accurately recording receipts received by OFM into the Revenue Accounting Management System (RAMS) and or FLAIR;
  • Researching receipts to apply to customer accounts;
  • Remote depositing receipt bundles daily to the bank;
  • Transferring custody of checks to the appropriate entity and obtain signature of receiving member;
  • Answering incoming telephone calls;
  • Opening, date stamping, sorting and distributing incoming mail;
  • Distributing warrants and EFT remittances to vendors and FDLE members; and
  • Writing receipts for customers paying for background checks and other services.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A high school diploma or its equivalent and one year of clerical or fiscal experience; or
  2. 30 semester hours, or equivalent, of coursework from an accredited college or university; or
  3. Any combination of education or experience, as described above, for a total of one year.
  4. Completion of a 720-hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in the area of accounting can substitute for one year of the required education or experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication;
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures;
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices;
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials;
  • Ability to conduct fact-finding research;
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities; and
  • Ability to use computer software skills, including beginner skills in database/spreadsheet software, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word.

SALARY:

  • $43,000.00

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
