Responsibilities

The Accounts Receivable Lead Analyst is a member of a 5-person Accounts Receivable team within PNC’s Revenue Accounting organization. The A/R team’s overarching mission is to maximize cash flow by mitigating credit risk and converting receivables into cash systematically and quickly. The team maintains a strong DSO, an accurate AR aging, and minimal bad debt. This role reports to the Global Credit & Accounts Receivable Manager.

The A/R Lead Analyst is the team lead, serving as a coach and mentor to junior colleagues. He/She will oversee the day-to-day AR responsibilities undertaken by the team, providing account guidance with Collections by leveraging their deep understanding of the order-to-cash cycle along with customer accounts and behavior. He/She is also a driver of efficiency and effectiveness of our O2C operations. The A/R Lead Analyst is a strategic communicator to support the team in partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Brokers, Operations, and IT to resolve barriers that trigger delinquency or generate order-to-cash claims. The A/R Lead Analyst will be an additional resource to the A/R team with their credit expertise alongside the Global Credit & A/R Manager.

The position will be based out of our 60,000 sq. foot, modern Emeryville, California office. WE ARE A CULTURE OF PERSONAL CONNECTON, WHICH IS WHY WE’VE CHOSEN A PERMANENT HYBRID WORK ENVIRONMENT WITH NORMS THAT EQUATE TO 2-3 DAYS MID-WEEK IN THE OFFICE FOR EMPLOYEES BASED IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. The expected pay scale this role is $98k-$108k, which may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications, geographic area (if applicable), and internal equity for the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. As the AR Team Lead, the A/R Lead Analyst functions to guide daily credit & collections priorities. He/She is a resource for the team in the capacity as a coach and business partner for the A/R credit and collections team members. The A/R Team Lead will serve as a second, supporting point of escalation contact for any credit and collections issues, working in conjunction with A/R team members. They will also trains team members on system and process enhancements. (20% of time)
  1. Administrates full credit cycle for domestic & international accounts, including new customer onboarding and continuous monitoring of existing customers via risk analysis/scoring, credit line management, and daily approval of high-risk orders. Makes credit decisions and recommendations based on a composite analysis of customer financial statements, credit agency ratings, industry news, internal customer performance and forecasts, and PNC’s revenue growth objectives. (20% of time)
  1. Manages collections, from billing to cash-receipt, for a wide-ranging portfolio of domestic & international retailers and distributors. Fosters effective customer relationships that strike a balance between solution-oriented customer service and application of PNC’s policies, terms, & conditions. Draws on O2C and customer expertise to resolve barriers that trigger delinquency. Meets or exceeds portfolio metrics and DSO targets. (15% of time)
  1. Right-hand partner to Sales organization for in-depth knowledge and guidance on credit risks and opportunities that inform customer sales forecasts and shipping decisions. Disseminates key A/R information regularly, contributes insights, and detects critical issues that require escalation to drive resolution. Cross-functional liaison with Brokers, Operations, and IT. (10% of time)
  1. Go-to resource across the organization for A/R knowledge and insights, including analytics, reporting, systems, and process improvement. Key point of contact for handling complex issues/projects. (15% of time)
  1. Leads the month-end close & audit cycles which are fast-paced and deadline-driven. Performs analyses, journal entries, reconciliations, and SOX controls related to bad debt, cash discount reserve, reclasses, pricing accuracy, and the A/R aging. Responsible for documentation, communication, and presentation of results to AR Manager and Director, Revenue Accounting for approval. Assists with interim and annual audits. (10% of time)
  1. Review, analyze, and evaluate processes and systems to identify opportunities of improvement and efficiency gains. (5% of time)
  1. Administrator for HighRadius automated credit & collections system. (5% of time)
  1. Primary backup for Global Credit & AR Manager and cash application function. (As needed)

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Accounting/Finance preferred, or equivalent work history.
  • 5+ years’ experience in A/R credit & collections
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis
  • Experience with major ERPs
  • Experience with automated receivables desired (HighRadius, Cforia, Billtrust, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of EDI
  • Advanced Excel skills
