PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To oversee the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of the Texas ACE
Program at the assigned center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Minimum – Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field
Preferred – Master’s Degree in education or related field
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with the public and frontline staff
Strong organization and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High degree of computer proficiency using Microsoft Office
Preferred – Ability to communicate in native language(s) of program recipients
Experience:
Experience working with high-risk children and families
Experience in staff supervision
Knowledge of community resources
Three years Classroom Experience – 6 th – 8 th or 9 th -12 th Reading
Preferred – 21 st CCLC or After School / Summer School Program experience
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Maintain a positive and effective relationship with supervisors.
2. Facilitate communication and create a partnership between the regular school-day and
the ACE program by participating as a member of the campus assessment team, faculty
meetings, staff committees, PLC’s and MTSS Committees (RTI).
3. Organize and work closely with school administration to analyze student data, progress
and implement program interventions to address needs.
4. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
5. Share, facilitate and conduct implementation of staff development in best practices.

6. Communicate with teachers, administrators and the ACE Program Director on student
progress.
7. Modify Instruction and interventions based on assessment data.
8. Lead and facilitate on-going planning efforts including community outreach.
9. Ensure high-quality program services and support to enrolled students that meets the
Texas ACE Program objectives in an effective manner.
10. Develop, review, and prepare lesson plans as needed to accommodate student needs
and learning styles.
11. Mentor Duties: Support participant success by working with small group (5-10) students
during the day to work on areas of academic difficulty (4-5 times a week), discuss issues
with school work, establish effective learning strategies, study habits, provide a healthy
relationship and a positive adult role model.
12. Manage the data driven recruitment and retention of students through continuous review
of student profiles.
13. Recruit, train, and develop frontline staff to achieve intended objectives based off student
data.
14. Assure regular student participation, as defined by grant requirements, by monitoring
attendance and taking steps to ensure that regular student counts are met or exceeded.
15. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal
testing before, during and after school and plan instructional activities based on the
results.
16. Coordinate data entry and evaluation of program at the center level.
17. Organize supplies, materials, equipment, and transportation according to grant guidelines
and operations.
18. Keep informed of and comply with state, federal, and district regulations and policies as
required.
19. Attend all required state and local meetings, conferences, and trainings.
20. Meet all grant compliance items including effective data & fiscal management.
21. Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.
