Labor Compliance Specialist

A construction company that specializes in projects that use public money and public work is seeking a Labor Compliance Specialist in Santa Fe Springs, CA. They are seeking a professional who can ensure that contractors pay their employees on time and comply with the guidelines set forth by the Department of Industrial Relations. The Labor Compliance Specialist will also manage the apprenticeship ratios, submit specific forms, and review certified payroll. You will work on-site and will manage projects from start to finish.

Pay Range: $52,500-$80,000 DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Manage certified payroll, which includes reviewing payroll submitted by subcontractors
  • Ensure compliance with public work requirements and prevailing wages
  • Manage apprenticeship ratios, including submitting specific forms on time
  • Ensure that all required documents are submitted for payment and that all payments are compliant
  • Log in new subcontractors and track insurance using LCPTracker and other compliance software
  • Speak to payroll regarding compliance issues
  • Attend weekly status meetings with the department to review project progress
  • Manage projects from start to finish, including on-site work

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Labor Compliance
  • Experience working on Public Works projects
  • Knowledge of Prevailing Wage requirements
  • Familiarity with Apprentice requirements
  • Knowledge of PW forms
  • Understanding of OCIP/SEWUP/CCIP programs
  • Proficient in MS Office programs, particularly Excel
  • Experience working with LAUSD
  • Knowledge of PSA (project stabilized agreement) and PLA (public labor agreement) requirements, including ensuring proper registration of workers and unions
  • Experience with Davis-Bacon regulations
  • Familiarity with LCPTracker or other compliance software trackers
