Ad Operations Manager

Priorities USA is a progressive advocacy organization focused on promoting the Biden-Harris agenda and supporting and improving the progressive movements’ use of digital advertising. We believe in an economy that provides real opportunity for all families to get ahead, and to protect the fundamental, democratic ideal of equality for all Americans – regardless of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

The Ad Ops Manager is responsible for supporting the implementation and management of Priorities USA’s paid media programs. As a member of the Paid Media team, you will work closely with the creative, analytics, and project management teams to help execute ad buys, optimize and pace campaigns, and provide general support to media planners and buyers. Your role will require you to work seamlessly and cross functionally with other Priorities USA teams and stakeholders to ensure that paid media programs are successfully executed by managing media planning and buying processes, actively advising on program tactics, and using program reporting to optimize ongoing campaigns and inform future campaigns. The Ad Ops Manager reports to the Director of Media Planning & Buying and will supervise ad ops associates.

Responsibilities

    • Work closely with digital ad buyers to ensure ads and tags are trafficked to self-serve platforms (Facebook, Google Ads, The Trade Desk, CM360, etc.) expertly, efficiently, and accurately. You will be responsible for making sure all campaigns are set up in a way that is aligned with best practices and approved media plans. This role will require some ads trafficking.
    • Work closely with digital media planners to ensure that media plans align with Priorities USA’s program objectives. You will be responsible for ensuring that trains are always moving with external media and tech vendors.
    • Run the ad buying pipeline to ensure that campaigns are ready for launch. This means managing processes like political verification/disclaimer set up, pixel placement, ad sourcing/tracking, finalized creative delivery, Q/A processes, vendor payment, and other logistics required to ensure timely and efficient program launches.
    • Work with the analytics team to ensure that audiences are properly onboarded in advance of program launch. Work with data and analytics staff to access data related to performance of live campaigns. Work with media planners and buyers to develop program insights and recommendations for program adjustments and optimization.
    • Clearly communicate program updates to the Media Planning & Buying Director.
    • Stay abreast of the changing media landscape and recommend programmatic changes accordingly.
    • Maintain a level of flexibility in the specific expectations of this job as the Priorities program takes clearer shape.

Qualifications

    • 1-2 cycles or 2-4 years of experience working within a paid media planning and buying team. Experience on a campaign or with a political organization, focused on persuasion and mobilization oriented paid media programs is preferred.
    • Knowledge and experience working in key self-serve advertising platforms (Facebook, Google Ads, Snapchat, etc.) and at least 1 DSP (The Trade Desk, DV360, etc.) Experience working with ad serving technology like CM360 is a plus.
    • Experience building ad performance reports for clients or other stakeholders. Must have proficiency in Excel and Google sheets.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational/project management skills; ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
    • A detailed and curious understanding of the media landscape, including the desire to stay up to date on changes to policies both in the broader media space and political space.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with others who might not always agree – you will be working cross functionally with several other members of the Priorities team with different experiences and perspectives and will need to communicate clearly and effectively to be successful.
    • Strong problem solving skills and interpersonal skills; ability to respond to crises calmly and with poise.
