Ad Sales Manager , Wondery

Wondery is looking for a Sr, Manager, Ads to support our rapidly growing business, reporting to the Head of Podcast Ad Revenue of Wondery. This is an exciting time to join a fast-growing company in an emerging new media space and in a role with broad scope and the potential to make a real impact. This person will work closely with the Head of Podcast Ad Revenue and other Wondery team members to establish Wondery as the leading global podcast ad network. This role is a critical member of the Sales Team, focused on using data to make decisions that will help us scale, find ways to innovate in video podcast monetization, optimize margins, train Account Executives and Account Managers in overall monetization strategies, and strive for operational excellence and customer-driven innovation in a global growth environment.

The ideal candidate will have previously held a similar role in a quickly scaling sales organization, ideally at an entertainment company or digital brand, and have a passion for storytelling through audio and video content.

Key job responsibilities
• Hires, manages, enables and coaches a team of sellers to help drive podcast revenue
• Leads strategic development of the team architecture including organizational design, account alignment, etc.
• Continually develop quality and quantity of programs needed to achieve territory goals, providing regular funnel activity/updates
• Manage team, monthly KPIs including, but not limited to pre-determined number of face-to -face customer presentations, quotes and wins
• Supports the gathering of any required assets, documentation, and data from clients and other sources
• Owns key senior client and agency relationships and builds accounts by establishing trust and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work; establish inroads to major holding companies
• Cultivates broader territory strategy including need for verticalization, product subject matter expertise, etc.
• Works with broader sales leadership to Think Big by creating innovative and repeatable sales opportunities and creates areas to Invent and Simplify workstreams and mechanisms to scale.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of B2B sales experience

– Experience managing teams

– Experience managing teams who deliver on defined goals and timelines

– Experience hiring and retaining sales talent

– Experience building new customer relationships

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience with C-level sales

– Experience selling through large scale audio programs to film studios, television companies and streaming services

– Podcast & video sales experience

– Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of employees with different skill sets

– Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software

– Experience with negotiation and relationship building skills with sales teams (and ideally with content creators, agencies and brands)

– Experience with strategic partnership building

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $221,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
