Additional Information About the Role

This role serves as a comprehensive ADA case manager of simple to complex requests. The work includes facilitation of the Interactive Process to include determining essential job functions for a wide variety of roles, obtaining clarified work status information, managing leave as an accommodation and temporary and permanent accommodations requests, reassignments, medical separations, and performing a full range of activities necessary to making appropriate ADA determinations. Requires excellent knowledge of ADA case management, independent judgement, and critical thinking. Ideal candidates should have the ability to communicate well with leaders, employees and outside partners and use critical judgment skills.

Role Purpose

This position will assist with the implementation and administrative support for the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended (ADA) program, and similar Missouri and Illinois laws to address accommodation obligations at BJC. This will include responsibility for the development of process maps, standard work, correspondence templates, and checklists to ensure a consistent, efficient, and effective processes. This position will be responsible for the entry and maintenance of documentation within a tracking system to ensure effective capture of approved and denied accommodation requests for risk mitigation. This position will provide continuous analysis and reporting of the overall program to ensure alignment with state and federal laws, and identification of any risks or compliance concern. Including proposal of revisions to BJC’s Disability Accommodations Policy as needed, and continuous analysis of ADA compliance across BJC.This position will develop and provide educational information regarding process and considerations around ADA and lead the training and education sessions. Additionally this position will provide communications on any program updates around ADA.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with implementation of the framework of the ADA program within BJC. Development of process maps, standard work, correspondence templates, and checklists to support the ADA program while driving efficiency and ensuring compliance.
  • Ensure proper documentation and tracking of all reasonable accommodations received orally or in writing within a tracking system. Provide guidance and assure timely processing and responses to accommodations requests, with consistent letters/correspondence and transactions. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Conduct analysis of ADA and similar state law compliance and development of dashboards and reports to identify any risk or potential gaps across BJC. Identifying any areas for continuous improvement to ensure compliance and reduce or mitigate risk. . Including proposal of revisions to BJC’s Disability Accommodations Policy as needed, and continuous analysis of ADA compliance across BJC.
  • Develop and provide educational information regarding process and considerations around ADA, and lead training and education sessions.
  • Develop communications on any program updates around ADA and actively provide awareness updates.
