Job Description
The ADA Compliance Manager will play a key role within the Office of Accessibility and ADA and the University of Missouri as a whole, advancing accessibility for and inclusion of persons with disabilities. This position will report directly to the Director of Accessibility and ADA Coordinator.
Essential functions of the role:
- Works with the Director of Accessibility and the Accommodations Specialist to assist with the ADA reasonable accommodations process for University employees, including both faculty and staff members. This includes engaging in the accommodations process, determining appropriate accommodations, and assisting with implementing accommodations.
- Supports the Director of Accessibility and ADA in pursuing strategic projects and solving complex problems involving accessibility, ADA compliance, and disability inclusion, with the goal of improving accessibility and inclusion for persons with disabilities at Mizzou.
- Answers questions and analyzes emerging ADA issues by conducting research on ADA regulations and guidance involving all aspects of accessibility, including facilities, digital access, program access, and general ADA compliance.
- Assists with investigating, mediating, and coordinating response to ADA complaints and reported accessibility barriers using mature judgment.
- Assists with managing operations of the Office of Accessibility and ADA, including case management, documenting accommodation processes, collecting data, and record-keeping.
- Helps ensure equal access to university facilities, programs, and events by providing proactive consultation and training with units to plan for accessibility and respond to accommodation requests.
- Maintains knowledge of ADA standards, regulations, guidance, and practices, and monitors changes in regulations and guidance.
- Creates educational training and resources related to the ADA and disability awareness, as well as assisting with planning for Disability Culture Month annually.
- Represents the Office of Accessibility and ADA and provides ADA/disability inclusion guidance in various campus meetings and on campus committees and task forces.
- Develops working relationships and collaborates with various University departments and city of Columbia entities to advance accessibility and provide resources and referrals to persons with disabilities.
Salary
Salary Range: $50,500 – $62,000
Grade: GGS 9E

Shift
Generally 8am-5pm, M-F, with scheduling flexibility.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Persons with disabilities and those with personal ties to the disability community are strongly encouraged to apply.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities and prior experience in higher education or with other ADA Title II entities is preferred. While knowledge of the ADA, accessibility, and accommodations will be a key component in selection, knowledge of all aspects of the ADA is not required. In depth on the job training on all aspects of the ADA will be provided.
Candidates with a J.D. have an advantage given the nature of this role, but a J.D. is not required.
