Boeing’s Advanced Design and Prototype Solutions (ADaPS) organization in Huntsville, AL is looking for an Associate Software Developer to contribute to advanced development of the Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC3) missile defense system. This engineer will develop, document, and maintain software requirements, test requirements, algorithms to use in testing, simulations of vehicles and environments, and software code.
ADaPS (an organization of over 130 software engineers) supports programs across the entire portfolio of Boeing products including Space Launch Systems (SLS) Upper Stage, Advanced Missile Defense efforts including Patriot Advanced Capability, Aircraft modernization programs, Manufacturing automation, and Satellite programs. ADaPS specializes in implementing rapid prototyping and development programs using small, adaptable agile teams.

Position Responsibilities :
- Develop Algorithms and Requirements for embedded PAC3 sensor software.
- Develop Test Algorithms and strategies for both software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing of sensor software.
- Work in small agile teams composed of diverse engineering skills.
- Develop and Execute testing to verify requirements for system.
- Responsible for developing technical products, plans, documentation, and briefings in support of program requirements.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite . The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Huntsville, AL)
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
- One or more years of programming experience, school project or internships using one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, C#, python
- Must have operating system knowledge of LINUX or Windows
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
One or more of the following are desired:
- Master’s degree in software, electrical, or systems engineering
- Experience with missile defense sensor algorithms
- Experience with sensor systems for complex conversion of analog and waveform data
- Experience with object-oriented design and programming
- Experience with high speed network interfaces
- Mathematical skills with probabilities and statistics and/or Calculus involving sensors
- Familiarity or experience with large integrated simulations on distributed machines or virtual machines
- Work experience or solid knowledge of embedded software and operating systems such as VxWorks.
- Some work experience or knowledge of telemetry protocols and testing
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $85,000 – $115,000
