Summary/Objective
Contributes to the effectiveness of the Parks and Recreation Department by providing secretarial services. Ensures all word-processing, filing, and clerical responsibilities are completed within the time limits and in the manner prescribed. Contributes to public awareness of programs and policies. Ensures all the daily operations are completed by serving as the direct line of customer service.
Essential Functions
Performs administrative duties
- Answers the phone, processes activity and facility registrations, answers customer questions.
- Transcribes minutes and helps create agendas for Advisory Boards, posts to the City’s website, sends InTouch messages.
- Assists onboarding Park and Recreation Department seasonal employees.
- Other projects, monthly reports, daily cash reports.
- Interprets City and Parks and Recreation rules and regulations to relieve office personnel of unnecessary questions or problems by answering questions from the public whenever possible.
- Proofreads brochures, flyers, etc.
- Maintains and updates Parks and Recreation information on City’s website.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
- High school graduate or GED.
- One (1) year of experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Education and Experience
- One (1) year of college or technical school.
- Three (3) years of experience.
