Position Summary
The City of Brighton is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Finance Department. This position is part time, up to 24 hours per week, and in person at City Hall located at 500 S. 4th Street in Brighton.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized and detail oriented and will be able to effectively manage their time and tasks. They will have strong written and oral communication skills and be comfortable working on a variety of tasks throughout the day or week.
Day to day tasks for this position may include (but is not limited to) financial transaction data entry and processing, basic financial review or analysis, managing supply inventory and replenishment, and supporting department managers with scheduling, meeting coordination and planning.
Administrative Assistants at all levels can be expected to perform a wide variety of clerical and administrative tasks in support of the public, the assigned department, Department Directors, and other senior staff members. This position must work well in group setting/peers and with the public by providing excellent, respectful customer service and human relations skills, which support the City of Brighton’s mission and values, and may be under the supervision of higher-level clerical and administrative staff.
This position has excellent growth potential with career levels distinguished as follows: Level Level I:
? Entry level experience, knowledge of office functions and computer equipment, general bookkeeping and filing, organization, front desk assistance and other duties as assigned.
Level II:
? Mid-level experience, duties of a Level I plus workflow management, internal committee involvement, and professional communication composition, and other duties as assigned.
Level III:
? Advanced experience, duties of a Level I and Level 2 handling of sensitive information, project management, action item accountability, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
? High school graduation or equivalent supplemented by additional administrative training.
? Possession of a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
? Ability to complete FEMA ICS 100 and IS 700 training within six (6) months of hire.
? Ability to perform moderate physical work, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, see and read instructions, journals, charts, and characters on a computer screen.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible, customer service and/or clerical related experience, including financial data processing.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite
