The Learning Effectiveness Program (LEP) at the University of Denver was founded in 1982 and is an internationally recognized program for neurodiverse learners. LEP is a fee for service program offering access to supports for neurodiverse learners with Specific Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), students on the Autism Spectrum, and/or students who have a history of learning differences.
The mission of the LEP is to support learning and neurodiversity by providing students opportunities and resources for personal growth, academic skill building, and connection.
Position Summary
The LEP Office Assistant is the first person to interact with guests in the LEP offices, in person, on the phone, or through email. This position reports to the Enrollment and Office Manager for the LEP, creating many opportunities for external engagement with students and families interested in the program, as well as collaboration with the Offices of Admissions, Academic Advising, Disability Services Program, and other departments around campus. This position creates a welcoming environment for guests, centered around friendly and professional customer service. The LEP Office Assistant is willing to actively ask questions to learn more relevant information to best help and support constituents through timely responses to inquiries and with accurate information. This position may support LEP areas such as the tutoring program, research, events, and other areas based on the needs of the department.

Essential Functions
- Provide general office support through answering telephones, responding to email inquiries sent to departmental email, and noting student
communications in student management systems - Provide information about the LEP and DU to external and internal constituents
- Input data into departmental tracking systems and data management systems
- Collaborate with the Administrative Team and Enrollment and Office Manager to coordinator prospective student visits (PSVs)
- Manage current and historic student records in paper and digital formats
- Provides payroll and additional support to Tutor Coordinator as needed
- Schedule LEP appointments with prospective students and their guests, coordinating with the Office of Admissions
- Maintain a tidy reception area, supply room, and general office areas, including starting and unloading dishwasher
- Work with confidential material; must sign confidentiality agreement
- Involved in coordinating office activities under direct supervision, and perform related work as required or assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Work experience with shared files in Microsoft Office suite or comparable software
- Experience in communicating with a variety of different stakeholders
- Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree/some college level courses OR 3 or more years of experience in a similar office setting
- Customer service experience in a front-desk capacity focusing on external communication
- Experience with digital filing systems
- Tracking information and using shared documents through Microsoft Office
Working Environment
1. Standard office environment.
2. Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
3. Noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities
1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
2. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
Work Schedule
This position requires employees to work onsite 8:00am-4:30pm with some weekends, evenings, and holidays. (Schedules vary by department and position.)

Hourly Range:
The hourly range for the position is $20.00-$23.00
