Seeking Administrative Assistant for Somerville Outpatient Center
We have a great opportunity to join our team in Somerville. The Somerville Outpatient Center has approximately 45 employees and serves over 1000 children, youth and adults living with mental health and substance use challenges. The Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the functioning of this program. This person is responsible for managing the flow of information, communication, and data within the program, and between the program and Riverside’s central administrative office. The Administrative Assistant will also maintain and organize necessary databases and files, and perform general receptionist and clerical duties to enhance the efficient operation of the program.
Among other assigned tasks the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for:
• Greeting and directing clients to the appropriate program/individual, and ensuring that reception desk is covered at all times by identifying substitutes as needed
• Providing regular clerical support to clinical staff
• Answering telephones, screening and directing calls to the appropriate individuals
• Assisting with maintaining the schedules for the onsite prescribers
• Connecting with pharmacies and laboratories to support prompt prescription refills
• Assisting Administrative Intake Coordinator and Billing/Insurance Specialist as needed
Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours/week. Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00am to 5:00pm onsite. Flexible schedule for the remaining four hours, including the potential to be remote.
Rate: $18.00/hour

Required Skills
- Highly organized, detail oriented, flexible, reliable, responsible and personable
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Comfort in working with clients who may be experiencing a psychiatric crisis both on the telephone or in person.
- Ability to create a safe and comfortable space as the first person clients meet at the center
- Intermediate to advanced computer fluency (including Microsoft Office) required
- Previous experience in a mental health or social services setting is preferred, but not required
Required Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years administrative experience required
